Greene labels Ocasio-Cortez ‘jealous’ after ‘revenge tour’ claim

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) brushed off claims from Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) that the Georgia Republican is on a “revenge tour” within the GOP.
Greene in an interview on NewsNation’s “The Hill” on Wednesday night denied that she wanted to run for Senate in Georgia, as Ocasio-Cortez asserted, calling the upper chamber a place “where all good things go to die.”
“I don’t want to go serve somewhere where all of my good ideas and bills I want to work on get completely stopped in a system that I think is utter failure,” Greene told NewsNation’s Blake Burman.
“The other problem with AOC is I think she’s really jealous that I came into her home state, stomped around, and actually had a great conversation with the ladies on ‘The View,’ ” Greene added.
Greene joined ABC’s “The View” earlier this week for a high-profile interview, saying she still strongly supports President Trump despite her recent public criticism of the GOP.
“I think it’s good to have conversations with the other side and have respectful conversations. When I say people are sick and tired of political drama — they are fed up with it, and they are tired of the toxic culture that we have,” she said on NewsNation.
Greene in the interview Wednesday night also pushed back on a report from the outlet NOTUS that said the GOP lawmaker has spoken with others about a potential White House run in 2028.
“People are tired of lies like that article you brought up,” Greene told NewsNation. “Tired of stupid attacks like AOC’s video.”
Ocasio-Cortez made her comments about Greene in an Instagram livestream on Monday, when she accused the Georgia Republican who’s been critical of GOP congressional leaders on certain issues of launching a “revenge tour.”
“Here’s some tea for you,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “Marjorie Taylor Greene wanted to run for Senate in Georgia… Trump said no, and the White House and ‘Trump land’ shut down Marjorie Taylor Greene’s personal ambitions to run for Senate, and she has been on a revenge tour ever since.”
Greene denied the claim as “gossip.”
“I don’t respect her very much,” Greene said of the New York Democrat. “She’s never accomplished anything in life, other than being a member of Congress, so I don’t really know what she has to offer other than gossip, but people are tired of that.”
