John Legend advises Trump to drop the ‘dictator s—‘ if he wants Nobel Peace Prize

Singer-songwriter John Legend says President Trump will need to stop the “dictator s—” if he wants to win the Nobel Peace Prize next year.
In a video posted to Instagram on Sunday, the award-winning artist addressed the president, who has openly sought the Nobel, saying he would try “positive reinforcement” to get Trump to change his “awful behavior.”
He praised the president for his role in brokering the Gaza ceasefire hostage agreement, calling Trump “instrumental in bringing about this new peace deal,” which Legend described as “a step in the right direction” that he hopes will last.
Legend, a longtime Trump critic, nodded to Trump’s pressure campaign for the coveted peace prize, saying Trump still has next year to get the award and that he’s rooting for him.
“They give it out every year, so don’t give up, President Trump. You can still do this. And guess what?” Legend said. “Believe it or not, I want you to do this. I want this peace prize for you so badly. I want this for us, for all of us.”
Legend explained that he wants Trump to get the prize because, “If Trump is able to actually earn the Peace Prize, it probably won’t be enough that he’s helped bring peace to the Middle East.”
He outlined several steps he thinks Trump would need to take domestically before the committee would consider awarding him the prize.
“Yes, the so-called peace president, who’s ending wars around the world, would also have to stop declaring war on the American people,” Legend said. “Stop sending the military into our cities simply because they’re run by Democrats; stop sending masked, unaccountable ICE agents to torment immigrant communities; stop ordering the prosecution of his political opponents on flimsy charges.”
“He’d have to stop all this authoritarian, dictator s—, all the fascist s—, all the inhumane s— he’s been trying to do,” Legend said. “So, guys, for the sake of this country and all of humanity, we should all really, really want Donald J. Trump to earn a Nobel Peace Prize.”
Legend called on Trump to begin making changes to his governing approach to prepare for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize deliberation process.
“So President Trump, let’s get to it,” Legend said. “You have another year to work on this. It’s going to require a serious change in your governing philosophy and your behavior.”
“But as a parent, I’ve learned that kids respond really well to positive reinforcement. So Donald, we’ve tried negative reinforcement — impeachment, indictments, voting you out of office — so let’s try positive,” Legend continued. “Let’s promise that if you get it together, you change your awful behavior, you’re going to get that peace prize that you so, so badly desire, and I’ll be so proud of you. So proud.”
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
