Netanyahu says Trump should get Nobel Peace Prize: ‘He deserves it’

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu doubled down on his belief that President Trump should receive the Nobel Peace Prize, citing Trump’s 20-point peace plan to end the two-year war in Gaza.
“Give @realDonaldTrump the Nobel Peace Prize — he deserves it!” Netanyahu wrote on social platform X.
The post also includes an image generated with AI depicting the president with his arms raised and smiling as a crowd appears to be giving him a round of applause. Confetti also falls down from one corner of the image as Netanyahu adorns Trump with a large Nobel Peace Prize around his neck.
A banner on the wall behind them reads, “Peace through strength.”
The president on Wednesday announced Israel and Hamas signed off on the first phase of his peace plan.
“This means that ALL of the Hostages will be released very soon, and Israel will withdraw their Troops to an agreed upon line as the first steps toward a Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace. All Parties will be treated fairly!” he said in a post on Truth Social.
Trump has also signaled he could travel to the Middle East this weekend to oversee the ceasefire deal and said the remaining hostages taken captive during the Palestinian militant group’s Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Israel, could be home by Monday or Tuesday.
Other allies of the commander in chief echoed Netanyahu’s sentiment online, including Argentinian President Javier Milei.
“I want to take the opportunity to announce that I will sign the nomination of Donald J. Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, in recognition of his extraordinary contribution to international peace,” Milei wrote Wednesday. “Any other leader with similar achievements would have received it long ago. LONG LIVE FREEDOM, DAMN IT…!!!”
This is not the first time Netanyahu has floated Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. During a White House visit in July, he presented a letter to nominate the president for the award after he facilitated a ceasefire between Israel and Iran.
“The president has already realized a great opportunity. He forged the Abraham Accords. He’s forging peace as we speak in one country and one region after the other,” Netanyahu said at the time. “So, I want to present to you, Mr. President, the letter I sent to the Nobel Prize committee. It’s nominating you for the peace prize, which is well deserved.”
Trump, as he took the letter, thanked Netanyahu.
“This I didn’t know. Wow. Thank you very much. Coming from you in particular, this is very meaningful,” he replied.
The moment of truth for Trump as a global peacemaker will come early Friday morning when the prize is officially awarded. The president previously suggested it would be an “insult” if he does not win.
