Live updates: Multiple people shot at Dallas ICE facility; Trump surprises Ukraine with pivot against Russia

Several people were shot by a gunman who then turned his weapon on himself Wednesday morning at the Dallas field office for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem said.
She added that details were “still emerging” and called for an end to such violence.
“While we don’t know motive yet, we know that our ICE law enforcement is facing unprecedented violence against them. It must stop,” Noem said in a post on social media.
In Arizona, a win by Adelita Grijalva in the race for her late father’s congressional seat keeps it in Democratic hands and narrowed House Speaker Mike Johnson’s (R-La.) margin.
President Trump’s declaration from the United Nations on Tuesday that Ukraine could regain land lost to Russia and suggestion that Moscow was actually a “paper tiger” drew surprise and condemnation from the warring nations.
Trump, meanwhile, ripped Jimmy Kimmel’s return to late night. The comedian pushed back on the president’s call for his removal and reiterated the need for freedom of speech.
The president has no public events on his Wednesday schedule. This evening, he’s slated to host his second dinner for the exclusive Rose Garden Club in his newly renovated White House space.
