GOP lawmakers tout Trump’s new ‘Rose Garden Club’: ‘Last night was epic’

Republican lawmakers took to social media early Saturday to praise President Trump’s new “Rose Garden Club,” following renovations to the garden that sits near the West Wing of the White House.
Trump invited a slew of guests to the Rose Garden on Friday night for a dinner.
House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) shared a variety of photos from the event on social platform X early Saturday.
“The grand opening of the new Rose Garden Club at the White House last night was epic,” Johnson wrote. “Thanks to @realDonaldTrump for his hospitality & visionary leadership.”
Vice President Vance also attended the event, sharing a table with Sens. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) and Markwayne Mullin (R-Ga.), as well as Rep. Richard Hudson (R-N.C.).
“Honored that President Trump invited me to be part of the Inaugural Rose Garden Club dinner last night at the White House,” Hudson wrote online. “It was great to spend some time with @POTUS in the Oval Office.”
“He showed me some of the beautiful renovations he’s made to the cabinet room,” the North Carolina Republican added.
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) shared a pic with Vance, joking that it is “proof the Air Force and Marine Corps get along.”
Other lawmakers also shared excitement over the dinner invitation, the first event in the newly re-opened space.
“President Trump’s renovation of the Rose Garden will be enjoyed by Americans for generations to come,” Sen. Jim Banks (R-Ind.) wrote on X, sharing his photo with the president. “Honored to be among his first guests with friends like [Rep. Brian Babin] and others.”
Babin (R-Texas) shared his own post, calling it a “beautiful evening.”
“It was a beautiful evening to have dinner with @POTUS in the new White House Rose Garden,” he wrote online. “Every action President Trump takes puts America FIRST, and we’re a better nation thanks to him.”
Freshman Rep. Riley Moore (R-W.V.), who is related to Sen. Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.V.), also thanked Trump for inviting him to the dinner, sharing a photo with the president.
He posted to X, “Awesome night celebrating the first night at the NEW Rose Garden Club! Thank you @realdonaldtrump for fighting for America!”
Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.) called it an “honor” to be on the guest list.
“It was an honor to join President @realDonaldTrump for the inaugural Rose Garden Club dinner. I’ve been on his team since the beginning, and I’ll always fight for his America First priorities,” he wrote on social media. “I’m grateful to work alongside the greatest American president of my lifetime.”
Blackburn, Sen. James Lankford (R-Okla.) and Rep. Jason Smith (R-Mo.) were among others who shared their experience.
The dinner came just a day after the president welcomed around two dozen high-profile tech and business leaders — including Meta founder Mark Zuckerbeg, Apple CEO Tim Cook, Microsoft found Bill Gates and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman — to the White House. The event was supposed to be hosted in the Rose Garden, but was moved inside due to rain.
During Thursday’s event, he touted his “America First” agenda and asked the companies to disclose how much they would pledge to investing in U.S. manufacturing.
The updated Rose Garden also comes as the White House undergoes construction for Trump’s new ballroom project.
