Watch live: House Democratic leaders give remarks amid Epstein, budget turmoil

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) will brief reporters Wednesday morning as drama surrounding disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, which has upended floor proceedings in recent weeks, threatens to run into the upcoming government shutdown fight.

Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) on Tuesday said the House would not vote on a resolution pressing the Trump administration to release more files in the case before the August recess.

Democratic Caucus Chair Pete Aguilar (Calif.) and Minority Whip Katherine Clark (Mass.) will also give remarks at the Democratic briefing.

The press conference is scheduled to begin at 10:15 a.m. EDT.
