Fascists have replaced Republicans. America doomed under Donald Trump. – The Columbus Dispatch

Senate Bill 83 would force faculty to stop teaching “uncomfortable” topics such as the truth.
They would be fired and face criminal charges if they continue to teach what has happened to marginalized groups in America and around the world.
I cannot teach about German concentration camps without acknowledging American internment of Japanese American citizens during World War II, or about the Black, peaceful people burned out of their homes and businesses at night during the Tulsa Race Massacre of 1921.
Opinion:Stephens must save Ohio colleges from radical ideology of diversity, equity and inclusion
I can’t teach about the “concentration camps” known as Indian reservations that came after the genocidal attempt to kill all Indigenous people during massacres when the Trail of Tears failed to exterminate them.
I’ve been a Republican all but 30 days of my voting life. I don’t know where my Republican Party went.
I don’t recognize the party of Lincoln that worked to free oppressed people when most Black people belonged to it.
I don’t recognize the party of George H.W. Bush, who lost his reelection bid because he put the country ahead of himself when he realized that raising taxes was the only way to keep American debt from piling up.
I don’t recognize the party of the fascist Trump who seeks to use revenge and the military to accomplish his goals, which include disregarding the electoral process.
In fact, I am sick to my stomach from the knowledge of those who ignore the truth to fall in line behind someone who may become the world’s greatest dictator ahead of Putin, Stalin, Pol Pot, Maduro, Duterte and others.
This is the definition of fascism: promoting a militaristic nationalism and contempt for electoral democracy (the rule of elites) with political and cultural liberalism. Communism continues to be effective because it promotes an all-encompassing mindset where the party knows what is best.
Everything comes from the party for the benefit of the working class.
Everyone is a member of the working class. Therefore, if you’re a patriot, you follow the party without question. If you don’t, you’re imprisoned or executed.
America as we know it will vanish under Trump and his followers. Don’t take my word for it. Do a Google search of Trump and Hitler. The Atlantic carried a story making the comparisons between Trump and Hitler.
Others see it, too.
Academics will be locked up. Journalists around the world who are dying to tell the truth will be locked up. Christians who preach the love and freedom of Christ will be locked up.
Opinion:Integrity of Ohio’s universities in jeopardy. Extreme bill a dangerous to future.
Read the history. That’s exactly how Hitler did it after he seized power.
Dietrich Bonhoffer, the great theologian, was hanged by the Nazis for preaching the truth about Christianity and how Hitler’s policies were incompatible with it.
America helped Hitler too, by swallowing Hitler’s propaganda that he wasn’t killing Jews and by government collaboration to keep the truth of the Holocaust from American leaders and the people. America turned away Jewish refugee ships because immigrants were vilified by a nationalist government under the need to “protect “American” blood.
We helped Hitler because American isolationism put Roosevelt in an untenable position to join World War II. By the time the U.S. joined, at least half of the 6 million Jews had been murdered.
Thanks to America sharing the World War II spoils of Germany with Russia, Christians in Germany were persecuted from 1933 to 1990 until the Berlin Wall fell and democracy returned to Germany — the home of Martin Luther and the Protestant Reformation that led to the Christian denominations today — denominations that those who support S.B. 83 likely belong to.
We’re going to do it all again under Trump and his followers.
The real patriots in this country will speak against Trump and these Republicans, as long as they can before they are imprisoned or executed. I am not an alarmist or a conspiracy theorist, but one as clueless as I can see the signs.
