Quieter day for Trump trial ahead of critical Michael Cohen appearance – The Washington Post

Cohen is expected to be the first witness to explicitly say Donald Trump was involved in deciding how to classify the records at the heart of the case.
NEW YORK — A week of contentious testimony in Donald Trump’s falsifying business records case wound down Friday with a shortened day of witnesses introducing documents and setting the stage for the long-awaited appearance of Michael Cohen on the stand next week.
The former personal attorney for Trump, and his self-described “fixer,” Cohen paid $130,000 to adult-film actress Stormy Daniels in 2016 as part of a nondisclosure agreement that required her to stay quiet about a sexual encounter she says she had with Trump a decade before he was elected president.
