Habba in the cross-hairs – Daily Kos
On Monday, NotSoNew wrote an article that noted that Allan Weisselberg had fired Alina Habba as his attorney (and retained another Trump family attorney). See Habba fired. In the comments, I predicted that this was a precursor to Habba being investigated for suborning perjury (“My prediction: look for her to be charged with suborning perjury.”). In an April 9 letter, addressed to Judge Arthur Engoron and reported by Business Insider’s Laura Italiano, the attorney general’s office rejected defense arguments that any discovery issues with the civil fraud case are now moot. “Mr. Weisselberg has admitted that he perjured himself during discovery and the trial in this action,” Senior Enforcement Counsel Kevin Wallace wrote. “The Court is well within its authority to determine if Defendants and their counsel facilitated that perjury by withholding of incriminating documents.”
Again, anyone drawn into the Trump maelstrom will suffer the consequences.
