Live Updates: Former President Trump in Fort Pierce for documents case – TCPalm

FORT PIERCE − Former President Donald Trump was in the Alto Lee Adams Sr. U.S. Courthouse during a scheduled hearing Monday in Fort Pierce on his federal classified documents case.
Trump’s case was scheduled for a sealed hearing Monday morning at the federal courthouse in Fort Pierce. It was not open to news organizations or to the public.
This was the first time Trump has attended a hearing in this case. He arrived in a motorcade in darkened windows and went behind the courthouse into an underground garage. He left around 2:20 p.m. the same way. He didn’t speak to the crowd of over 150 that had gathered.
Trump and his two codefendants, Walt Nauta, his valet and bodyguard, and Carlos de Oliveira, property manager at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, are criminally charged with mishandling federal documents uncovered on Aug. 8, 2022, at Mar-a-Lago.
Monday evening Judge Cannon issued an order that the sealed hearing with Special Counsel lawyers that began at 3 p.m. will continue Tuesday.
She instructed government attorneys and defense lawyers who’ve been cleared to view classified documents to return at 10:30 a.m. to discuss classified information and documents produced in the case.
The sealed hearing will not be open to the public or media.
Cannon ordered that defendants Walt Nauta and Carlos De Oliveira “may not be present.”
“Defendant Trump is not required to appear,” Cannon ruled Monday. “Counsel for Defendant Trump may attend.”
A Palm Beach County sheriff’s deputy on a motorcycle operating in front of the motorcade escorting former President Donald Trump from the court hearing back to Palm Beach County crashed on Interstate 95 in Martin County.
The Palm Beach County deputy was conscious but lethargic, and she was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach according to Martin County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy John Budensiek.
He said she lost control of her vehicle, flew off the bike and ended up on the shoulder of the interstate. No one else was injured.
Former President Donald Trump exited the garage in the back of the federal courthouse in his motorcade and left the area. He did not speak to the crowd of over 150 that had gathered around the building. At one point, someone rolled down the window on an SUV part way and waved.
Ronald Solomon says he’s sold more than $1,000 worth of hats — between 50 and 60 of them today.
Jean Corioland, 44, just wanted to show support for President Joe Biden.

About 175 people are waiting for Trump to exit courthouse. It’s unknown if he will leave as he arrived, in an SUV without getting out, or if he will address the crowd. The hearing could last until 2 p.m.
Things have quieted outside the federal courthouse in Fort Pierce. All has come to a standstill as what look like Secret Service agents wait for Trump to exit after the hearing he is attending. The hearing began at 9:30 and is scheduled to last until 2 p.m., but he could exit at anytime.
In total about 50 to 60 people were on hand watching and waiting for former President Trump to arrive in Fort Pierce.
