Drivers may face possible road closures, delays during Trump’s visit to CCU – WMBF
HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) – Former President Donald Trump will be in the Grand Strand on Saturday afternoon for a rally and it could lead to possible road closures and delays for drivers.
He is holding a “Get Out the Vote” rally at the HTC Center on Coastal Carolina University’s campus. He is expected to speak around 2 p.m.
While very few details of the former president’s arrival and motorcade have been released for security purposes, WMBF News wanted the community to be aware of possible routes that could be impacted on Saturday afternoon. This could mean that roads and intersections will be closed to allow Trump’s motorcade to get to CCU’s campus.
Horry County police confirmed that the department, along with other local law enforcement, will be assisting federal authorities and the Trump campaign with the visit to the area. Myrtle Beach Police Department would not provide any information citing security reasons.
We are anticipating that Trump and his team will land at Myrtle Beach International Airport. But again, details are limited for safety and security reasons.
We are also still working to learn when Trump will land to determine when drivers may face delays and road closures.
Possible Route #1:
Several busy intersections on Highway 501 could be shut down due to the president’s motorcade, such as Carolina Forest Boulevard, Myrtle Ridge Drive and East Cox Ferry Road.
