TV Critic Donald Trump quiet on Nikki Haley surprise SNL appearance – Palm Beach Post
Donald Trump, a frequent critic of the Saturday Night Live comedy show, has not weighed in on Nikki Haley’s surprise appearance.
Trump did post a video just after midnight on social media “Tricky Nikki” juxtaposing Haley’s contradictory position on raising the gasoline tax and retiring age among other issues.
That post on his Truth Social platform came after Haley was in SNL’s opening skit last evening.
The premise of the routine was a town hall session in which SNL comedian James Austin Johnson played Trump and Haley popped up in the audience to ask pointed questions. They included why Trump will not debate her and also tweaked Trump about taking a cognitive test.

Johnson, as Trump, responded to the debate query saying, “Oh my God. It’s her, the woman who was in charge of security on Jan. 6. It’s Nancy Pelosi” — making fun of the former president’s recent gaffe confusing Haley with the former House speaker.
Trump has not commented on the appearance. But in recent years, he has been criticized the show, especially during his presidency when actor Alec Baldwin frequently spoofed him.
“Alec Baldwin, whose dying mediocre career was saved by his terrible impersonation of me on SNL, now says playing me was agony. Alec, it was agony for those who were forced to watch. Bring back Darrell Hammond, funnier and a far greater talent!” Trump wrote on Twitter, not called X, in 2018.
On Sunday afternoon, Trump said Haley “lost Iowa and New Hampshire to my record breaking numbers in both States” and “is about to lose Nevada and Indiana and then, South Carolina, her ‘home’ State.”
