Former President Donald Trump is returning to the Granite State on Saturday, holding a rally on the campus of the University of New Hampshire.
The rally took place at the Whittemore Center on the campus of UNH. The former president was last in New Hampshire on Veteran’s Day in Claremont.
During his speech, Trump went after Governor Chris Sununu, calling him a “selfish guy.” This all stems from the governor’s recent endorsement of Nikki Haley for President.
“So he’s endorsed somebody that can’t win, and he’s out there working but he’s a selfish guy. He could have won the senate at that time, but now he can’t get elected dog catcher.”
He also dismissed the rest of the Republican field trying to catch up to him in the polls, saying their time is running short.
“They’ve gotta start that surge fast. They’ve got to start that bounce – they’ve got to get that bounce going.”
Another talking point was the transition to clean energy, and how Trump feels it is going to bankrupt the country.
“They don’t know what they’re doing, but you’re going to be in the poor house to fund his big government green new deal, which is a socialist scam. And you know what, you have to be careful, it’s going to put us all in big trouble, the green new deal that doesn’t work. the green new scam — let’s all call it from now on the green new scam.”
Trump ended his speech promising to grant new federal legal protections to all police officers to spur a nationwide crackdown on crime
He will follow up the visit with appearances in Nevada on Sunday and Iowa on Tuesday.
