AUGUSTA (WGME) — A hearing is being held in Augusta on Friday as part of an effort by a group of Mainers to keep former President Donald Trump off the 2024 Maine Republican primary ballot.
It’s an issue that's been brought up in 36 states with people citing the 14th Amendment, which says no person can hold public office who has engaged in an insurrection.

Secretary of State Shenna Bellows will hear the arguments.
The hearing is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
It will be livestreamed on the Maine Department of the Secretary of State's YouTube Page.
