LANSING, MI — Former Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land said Meshawn Maddock, a grassroots leader in the Michigan Republican Party at the time, asked her to attend a December 2020 meeting on behalf of then President Donald Trump’s attorneys – the same meeting where 16 individuals ultimately signed off on a document that falsely declared Trump as winner of Michigan’s presidential election.
Her testimony comes during the second day of an ongoing preliminary hearing – meant for the judge to determine if there is sufficient enough evidence to send the cases to trial – on whether 15 Republicans knowingly committed forgery when sending this slate of false electors to the National Archives and Congress despite then-candidate Joe Biden, a Democrat, having won Michigan by more than 154,000 votes.
