Neal Katyal Tells MSNBC: It’s Likely Donald Trump Will ‘Attack His Own Daughter’ If She Hurts Him In Court – Forbes

On MSNBC Friday, attorney Neal Katyal predicted that Donald Trump would turn on his own child should the testimony of Ivanka Trump prove damaging to the former president. “The chickens are coming home to roost,” Katyal told MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace on Deadline White House.
“Ivanka has already provided some testimony against her father,” Katyal said. “And it wouldn’t shock if there’s a lot more to come. And so the real question to me… is how long is it gonna take Donald Trump to attack his own daughter if, as I suspect, she reveals damaging information about him.”

A judge ruled Friday that members of the Trump family would testify at Donald Trump’s $250 million civil fraud trial in Manhattan. Donald Trump, Jr. is set to testify on Wednesday, followed in the next days by Eric Trump, Ivanka Trump and Donald Trump himself. Ivanka Trump tried to avoid testifying, but the judge ordered her to do so over her objections.
On Saturday morning, Trump took to his Truth Social platform to rage against the judge and his ruling ordering Ivanka Trump to testify. “My daughter, Ivanka, was released from this Fake Letitia James case by the Court of Appeals, but this Trump Hating, Unhinged Judge, who ruled me guilty before this Witch Hunt Trial even started, couldn’t care less about the fact that he was overturned,” Trump wrote. Trump went on to target the judge, saying “I truly believe he is CRAZY, but certainly, at a minimum, CRAZED in his hatred of me.”

Donald Trump’s lawyers have argued that forcing Ivanka Trump to testify risks turning the court proceedings into a “circus.” The family’s lawyers say the subpoena forcing Ivanka Trump to appear in person represented “continued harassment of President Trump’s children.”
“They just want another free-for-all on one of President Trump’s children,” said Trump attorney Chris Kise. “They want her in the courtroom so it can be filled with media and we can have another circus day.”
