I guess it’s sinful to have such a dislike for another human, as I have toward a past president, this being Donald Trump. Forgive me Lord for my trespasses against a fellow human, for I see him as scum on our beautiful earth. Before I state the reason for my feelings toward him, probably the same as yours, I need to clarify my position.
I am 91 years old this month, a registered Democrat that has always voted for the man, not the party. What I’m saying is, I have voted for Republicans many times. This feeling I have toward Trump is not because of his politics, but simply him and his verbal actions as a man that held the highest office in our land. I firmly believe in our two-party system, and see a need for a third party. This being said, I will continue.
In the courts of New York, charges have recently been brought against Trump for inflating his wealth, nearly twofold, in order to get cheaper insurance rates and increase his stock values. If this is proven, Trump is in violation of a fraudulent act in the state of New York. These charges of course, must be proven in the court. Trump said these charges brought against him in New York are “un-American.”
During Trump’s administration, he bad mouthed Senator John McCain, a fellow Republican and called him a loser and sucker, for being a prison of war, stating he didn’t have much use for someone that had been captured. This was said by Trump when McCain was in disagreement with him. This was a man who had honorably served his country as a naval pilot, was shot down, parachuted from his plane and was captured during the Vietnam war.
Recently Trump made the statement that one of our top generals should be executed because of some of his decisions made. This is a man that served his country well and should have all the praises extended to a hero of our great democracy.
How many times have we heard Trump say that judges are criminals, nuts, crazy and other words not becoming of a president. This of course is said by Trump when he has been charged with, so many wrong doings.
The people that stormed the capitol, Jan. 6, 2021 were hero’s according to Trump. They did extensive damage to the capitol in an attempt to overthrow the election results that Biden won and Trump lost. Windows were broken doors torn down, defacing property and much more damage occurred. Serious threats against Nancy Pelosi and Vice President Pence were made but they had been moved to a secured area. Chants were being made, “where are you Nancy, we will get you.”
Trump had witnessed all this on TV and could have stopped it at any time but it was as if he was enjoying this rioting. He was approached by some of his aids to pick up the phone and tell these rioters that this was enough. But he chose to entertain himself with what he was seeing.
We all saw and heard Trump’s remarks on TV shortly after the riot ended, when he said, all that participated in this event were great Americans and “you accomplished your goal.” This was an evil and treacherous act of transgression against the oath by a president, in violation of all our standards.
Hate in politics seems to be at a record high by politicians against other politicians. I believe that this increased during Trumps administration.
The above are some of the reasons I dislike Trump. He also suffers from an excessive admiration for himself, called narcissism which to me points toward insanity. His encouragement to overthrow the election was also an act of insanity. This is the United States of America, and elections are not over thrown. With our democracy, which is for and by the people, and who wins is decided by the people by the most votes. Trump has no respect for our constitution or the rule of law.
