Trump Adds Two Attorneys to Criminal Defense Team – The Messenger

Former President Donald Trump has expended his criminal defense team with at least two more veteran attorneys.
The former president has been stacking his defense team as he prepares for the trove of legal cases against him and their upcoming trials.
The legal team, organized by attorney Todd Blanche, now includes, Emil Bove, a former federal prosecutor co-chief of the national security unit at the Manhattan U.S. attorney’s office, and Kendra Wharton, a white collar defense lawyer.
Bove worked on the prosecution team of Cesar Sayoc Jr. who pleaded guilty to mailing pipe bombs to critics of the former president and had handled billion dollar tax fraud cases.
"Emil is an expert in white collar and CIPA-related litigation and his trial skills are among the best in the business," Blanche said in a statement, referencing the Classified Information Procedures Act, the law that governs the use of classified documents in criminal cases. "We are thrilled and lucky to have him on our team defending President Trump and all of our other clients."
Wharton who has launched her own law firm, previously worked for Blanche's firm Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft and once worked as a legislative aide for Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky. She has defended corporation executives and their companies in cases brought by the Department of Justice and other federal agencies.
Blanche's statement continued: "Kendra is a brilliant lawyer and clients have trusted her for years and is providing the same excellent service to our team that has been her signature for many years."
Special counsel Jack Smith who is overseeing Trump's election interference case, has also made an addition to his team, hiring Alex Whiting, a war crimes prosecutor who once worked as a deputy to Smith.
