Call me crazy but is this the freedom of speech you want to defend?
Brenna Bird, Iowa’s Attorney General, and several other Republican AGs have filed a brief supporting Donald J. Trump’s freedom of speech. She says, “All Americans have the right to free speech including presidential candidates like President Trump” (he won in 2020 according to Trump supporters).
Trump calls anyone not MAGA or disloyal to him the following: “We pledge to you that we will root out the communists, Marxists, fascists, (Fascists are Hitler, Marxists are Stalin and Putin, they are not the same) and the radical left thugs that live like vermin within the confines of our country.” He calls those who served in the military losers and suckers. You might conclude Bird’s brief as deplorable.
Would Bird do the opposite and defend those who refuse to cite the Pledge of Allegiance due to a firm belief in the separation of church and state due to under GOD inappropriate within the Pledge?
