Pritzker, wife made $1.4M on gambling last year, tax records show

Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker (D) and his wife, MK, reported $1.4 million in income from gambling according to a Thursday release from his campaign.

The two made more than $10.3 million in taxable income and paid $30.2 million in federal taxes and $4.5 million in state taxes, according to the release obtained by the Chicago Tribune.

The Hill reached out to Pritzker for comment.

Pritzker is a billionaire who is an heir to the Hyatt Hotel Corp., but also raked in earnings last year from “winnings and losses from a casino” in Las Vegas, per the release.

His current net worth stands at $3.9 billion, as reported in his Forbes profile.

Pritzker has funded each of his three campaigns through personal funds and heavily donated to political causes, such as abortion protections and fellow party members running for election.

Last year, he donated $3.3 million to charitable causes, according to the Tribune.

Pritzker is widely seen as a likely 2028 presidential candidate and his tussle with President Trump over the deployment of National Guard soldiers in Illinois has put him further into the national spotlight.
