Trump 6 points underwater with men in polling

A poll found President Trump’s approval rate underwater among men as his second White House stint hits the six-month mark.
The responses collected by CBS/YouGov noted 47 percent of men approve of the job Trump is doing as president, while 53 percent disapprove.
Last October, before Trump’s election, CBS/YouGov found 54 percent of men supporting Trump and 64 percent saying he would make a strong leader.
DecisionDeskHQ polling averages show Trump’s overall approval rating decreased by about 12 points since January, from 56 percent to 44 percent this week.
The new CBS/YouGov poll found 54 percent of men say the president is making good on his campaign promises, while 46 percent say he’s doing something different than he outlined on the presidential trail.
Forty-seven percent of men said Trump has placed “too much” of a focus on deportations, 33 percent says he has the “right amount” of attention on the issue and 19 percent said he has not placed enough emphasis on it.
Trump campaigned on carrying out the largest deportation push in the country’s history, and his administration has ramped up immigration sweeps at workplaces and other sites. Illegal border crossings have drastically slowed.
Opinions were lower on Trump’s handling of the economy.
The CBS/YouGov survey found 65 percent of males say Trump has not done enough to lower prices, 29 percent said he’s done the right amount of work toward lowering costs and 6 percent said he’s done too much to deflate prices.
CBS News and YouGov surveyed 2,343 adults in the U.S. from July 16-18. The margin of error is plus or minus 2.5 percentage points.
