At a rally in Detroit on Saturday, Donald Trump once again complained about US support for Ukraine in its ongoing war with Russia and described the country’s president Volodymyr Zelensky as “the greatest salesman of all time.”
The former president made it clear that he was not happy with the $50bn aid package for Ukraine recently approved by the Biden administration. “It never ends,” he complained to supporters in Michigan.
Trump also suggested President Joe Biden “should have to take a cognitive test”, only to immediately confuse who had administered his own test, referring to Texas Republican representative Ronny Jackson, who was White House physician during his presidency, as “Ronny Johnson.”
“He doesn’t even know what the word ‘inflation’ means. I think he should take a cognitive test like I did,” Trump said as he headlined the conservative Turning Point Action convention in the Motor City.
Earlier on Saturday, Trump hosted a roundtable discussion with members of the community at the 180 Church in downtown Detroit, which serves a predominantly Black congregation.
Serena Williams has refused to address her relationship with former president Donald Trump even after she was revealed to be on his frequent call list in testimony at his criminal trial.

Donald Trump may be on the verge of setting aside another grudge within the Republican Party and elevating a former rival to be his running mate in 2024.

Donald Trump is set to hold a rally this week in Wisconsin – despite calling Milwaukee a “horrible city” just days ago.
The former president is set to hold a rally on Tuesday in Racine, Wisconsin, at 3 pm. The rally is designed to speak about Joe Biden’s “failed presidency.”
It will be Trump’s first appearance in the state since he criticized Milwaukee, which is set to serve as the site for the Republican National Convention in July. Trump reportedly made the comment during a meeting with other Republican leaders in Washington, D.C.
At one point, Trump told the Republicans “Milwaukee, where we are having our convention, is a horrible city,” according to Jake Sherman of Punchbowl News.
The comment was immediately seized by Democrats and Milwaukee officials.
Florida GOP Representative Byron Donalds, seen by some to be in with a chance of being picked for Vice President by Donald Trump, has urged the Supreme Court to take up the former president’s New York case in which he was convicted on 34 counts of falsification of business records.
“Speaker [Mike] Johnson, myself included, and many Americans believe the Supreme Court should step into this matter,” Donalds told NBC News’ “Meet the Press” on Sunday.
Donalds referenced the lengthy appellate process in New York on Sunday, citing it as a reason why the Supreme Court should step in, and called the case against Trump an attempt to “interfere” in the Republican candidate’s election campaign.
“This is being done for political purposes. Everybody knows how the court system works in New York. The only ability for this to be overturned is going to be happening two or three years from now,” Donalds said.
His comments come after Mike Johnson told Fox News that the Supreme Court should look into the case.
“There’s a lot of developments yet to come, but I do believe the Supreme Court should step in. Obviously, this is totally unprecedented,” Johnson told “Fox & Friends” shortly after Trump’s conviction.
Donald Trump talked openly about executing people while he was president, a former White House aide has claimed.
John Bowden has the story:
Donald Trump took to Truth Social to post a somewhat confrontational Father’s Day message addressed to both his supporters as well as “radical left degenerates”.
In a typically all-capitalized post, the former president, wrote: “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY TO ALL, INCLUDING THE RADICAL LEFT DEGENERATES THAT ARE RAPIDLY BRINGING THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA INTO THIRD WORLD NATION STATUS WITH THEIR MANY ATTEMPTS AT TRYING TO INFLUENCE OUR SACRED COURT SYSTEM INTO BREAKING TO THEIR VERY SICK AND DANGEROUS WILL.
“WE NEED STRENGTH AND LOYALTY TO OUR COUNTRY, AND ITS WONDERFUL CONSTITUTION. EVERYTHING WILL BE ON FULL DISPLAY COME NOVEMBER 5TH, 2024, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!”
