N. WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. – We’re hours away from a visit from former President Donald Trump, hitting the campaign trail in the run-up to the rematch against President Joe Biden.
That means it may be difficult getting to your weekend plans on Saturday.
Pennsylvania State Police are advising the public to anticipate delays and road closures between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. in the following areas:
Route 22 both Eastbound and Westbound
Route 309 both Northbound and Southbound to the area of Route 873
Old Packhouse Road in Schnecksville
The road closures should be intermittent during that time frame.
These closures will most likely cause disruptions on secondary roads as well throughout the region.
Message signs will be located throughout the area with instructions to drivers.
Lehigh County EMS tells 69 News it’s working on a comprehensive safety plan along with State Police, the Secret Service, and Homeland Security, but that information is confidential.
Workers have been outside the Schnecksville Fire Hall all day Friday setting up for the rally. If the fire company’s voice mail is any indication, there’s a lot of excitement for it.
“If you are calling in regards to this Saturday’s event, we ask that you please go to the event website for additional information and tickets as the fire company is not affiliated nor sponsoring this event, it is merely being held on our grounds,” the voicemail says.
You can register for tickets to the event at donaldjtrump.com.
It’s only 2 tickets per mobile phone number, and they are being handed out on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Doors open at 3 p.m.
Trump is scheduled to speak at 7 p.m.
