CNN Reveals Recordings of Former Trump Lawyer Chesebro Detailing Fake Electors Plot – The Messenger
Former President Donald Trump and top Trump aides were briefed about a plan to install fake electors to overturn the 2020 presidential election, according to recorded testimony of attorney Kenneth Chesebro obtained by CNN.
Chesebro is an unindicted co-conspirator in Trump's federal election interference case and one of Trump's indicted co-conspirators in his Georgia election fraud case. In the latter, Chesebro has taken a plea deal and is reportedly cooperating with the prosecution. Chesebro has reportedly cooperated with investigators in other states as well.
The audio obtained by CNN is of testimony Chesebro gave to Michigan investigators.
Chesebro detailed the delay in delivering fake elector certificates to some states, and how the team behind the scheme had to send couriers to deliver the documents because they got stuck in the mail.
He also discussed enlisting members of Congress — including Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis. — to deliver the certificates to Vice President Mike Pence in an attempt to stop the certification of the election results.
Chesebro is just one of Trump's former attorneys who is now cooperating with investigators.
